I thought once you filled in th esurvey – anonymously – you could view the other responses – but i only got this page where i’d have to give you an email address – not anonynous – to gt the url fro the other responses. How are you then goign to use my email contact ? is this for advertising ?

I believe it is clear about opting-in if you want to see the results as stated in the context before the survey begins…”Once you take the survey, you can opt-in to review the fascinating statistics and comments of over 1700 previous responders. The opt-in email address will be found in the thank you message that appears after you hit the submit button at the end of the survey.” YOu can easily make up a gmail, yahoo or such email to use to get the results, and then delete it. I only add people who opt-in to my 1 or 2 times a month newsletter, which anyone can opt-out of whenever they choose.

It’s encouraging at this time, when we are seeing a return to regressive attitudes and repressive censorship legislation in the UK regarding fetish sexual expression, to be reminded that there are people who acknowledge the significance of the sexual aspect of the human condition and are raising awareness through this kind of research, however nascent.

That was hard to write and hit “send.” A ton of shame inside. Glad I did write it down though. I’ve sat in shame on this stuff for maybe 50 years…. I’d like to crawl out of that.

Thank you for providing this survey and for your amazing book. You are doing a service that is sorely needed in our society, and I’m infinitely grateful for the work you are doing!!! I am coming to accept myself and it’s because of sites like this and Fetlife that I may be able to live a fully authentic and blissful sexual existence.

I no longer feel the vast majority of the shame that I admitted to having felt in the past in the survey. I’ve come to accept myself for who I am, as I am, how I am and I refuse to settle for partners who cannot accept me the same way. Years of therapy and introspection and asking “but WHY is it bad?” To myself and never having a very logical answer helped a lot.

Kink, & the fantasies/roleplay (or sexual encounters) that I engage in, kinda help me ‘reclaim’ myself & what i enjoy. I experienced a lot of physical/emotional/sexual abuse when i was younger; these fantasies help me turn the bad things that happened into something i can controlled & have say over.
